Goodreads Summary

War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it with untrustworthy new allies and the empire as his enemy. Though he has convinced himself that he no longer loves Kestrel, Arin hasn’t forgotten her, or how she became exactly the kind of person he has always despised. She cared more for the empire than she did for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she did for him.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

In the frozen north, Kestrel is a prisoner in a brutal work camp. As she searches desperately for a way to escape, she wishes Arin could know what she sacrificed for him. She wishes she could make the empire pay for what they’ve done to her.

But no one gets what they want just by wishing.

As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover that the world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and they are caught in between. With so much to lose, can anybody really win?

My Thoughts

I cannot believe this is the last book to the Winner’s trilogy. What am i going to do after this? I will miss Kestrel and Arin so much. This is definitely hands down one of my favorite trilogy now alongside The Infernal Devices.

Marie Rutkoski is such an amazing writer. The way she put things together, the way her characters come together, it is just beautiful. Rutkoski made it seems like every single dialogue held so much more meaning to it. Overall, she is a fantastic writer and i will definitely get her books in the future.

Like i said, I love this book and i would recommend to everyone. It is not necessary the best book from the trilogy but i did enjoy it a lot and it wrapped up the entire series perfectly. Since it is the final book from the trilogy i will not go into detail in order not to spoil anyone.

Kestrel and Arin. They are my OTP. Well not exactly my favorite OTP but they are definitely up there somewhere. My number OTP has got to be… CAPTAIN SWAN ❤

Okay. Back to topic. Kestrel and Arin have gone through so much together and they deserved each other so much after sacrificing for each other. Even after they constantly hurt each other their love still stand and guys this is the kind of love everyone should have. Going the extra miles just to protect the ones you love even though you know at the same time it might hurt you. The romance in this whole trilogy was well done EVERYONE should read it.

Another character that almost everyone loves is Roshar. He is so funny. He is the one that made all of us laugh even when it is sad. I need a Roshar in my life.

The plot flowed really well. There were a certain troupe in this book that so many of us reader did not enjoy and i agree with all of them. It really changes so much of the book but it is okay it still doesn’t change the way i feel for this book.

I love the ending. I cannot ask for more. It is perfect.

I love this trilogy so much all of you really should read it. It is time to say goodbye to my favorite trilogy but they will always have a place in my heart.

“I told her that I belong to you, and no other.”
